I'm really looking forward to the nice weekend - along with some family time!
So one question for the weekend:  What are you shooting this weekend and what is inspiring you?

Happy Memorial Day Weekend and Happy Scrappin'!

Enjoy!

Last Sunday, Kristina Werner, uploaded on her blog a How-To video on a Gratitude Journal.  Along with a link the the pdf of the actual interior gratitude pages.  I decided to make a journal for my friend Brandie.  With the scraps from making the Gratitude Journal, I decided to make a card.  Both the card and the journal are color schemes that I normally wouldn't use - so it was nice to step outside of my comfort zone for a little while.

Enjoy.  Happy Scrappin'!!!

I got this idea from a Whole Living article (25 Eco-Chic Ideas For Your Home) that was sent to me a few months back.  I knew right away I was going to have to give this a try.  It was very simple to make, inexpensive, and what better way to recycle your wine corks and put them to good use.  This definitely isn't your mother's trivet - or as my mother-in-law calls it - Hot Plate.  It will defitely be a conversation piece when you're cooking in your kitchen and put your hot pot on it to cool down.  Below, I've provided the instructions on how to make this little unique kitchen piece.

Materials:
60-65 uniformed sized corks
7 1/2  inch metal hose clamp (Plumbing section of Home Depot)

Instructions:
1. Stand corks upright and arrange them into a circle.
2. Surround corks with metal hose clamp.
3. Tighten the clamp to bind the corks together.
4.  Trim the excess clamp with metal clippers.

Cost:
About $2.50 (price does not include the wine for the wine corks)  :)

So yesterday, I go into Starbucks to treat myself to an afternoon snack and to use my free petite coupon, before it expires on Monday....so I order a Passion Tea Lemonade - Sweetened and my Lemon Sweet Square....Usually as we all know at Starbucks, when we get our treats, they put them in a Starbucks brown paper back, to my surprise the Barista, places on the counter the cutest little Starbucks box, which is holding my Lemon Sweet Square.
I think the box is so cute, with the updated logo on the front and in the back the word Starbucks printed vertically.  What a great way to receive a treat to self!!!  Oh the things that bring us afternoon joy.  :)

I made this two-page layout to chart the first 0-12 months of my daughter.  What a beauty is truly is inside and out.  It's amazing to see how she grew from month to month!  Our joy!

Above, I have completed my Daily Openers and my Food & Work/Play page for the Week In The Life Project.  On my Daily Opener pages I used 5x7 photos and for the Food & Work/Play I used 4x6 photos.  I also included daily Gratitudes along with what I ate for breakfast and what my day was like.

Above you will see the other three projects I worked on during National Scrapbook Day.  I wanted to post these on Sunday or Monday, but I have been battling allergies or a cold, I'm not sure which, so I've been out of commission these last few days.  I do hope that everyone enjoyed National Scrapbook Day this past Saturday.  Also, I hope all you Mommy's had a wonderful Mother's Day and we celebrated for the wonderful women you are!!!  So I hope you enjoy the 2 layouts and the card I created.

Hello everyone and Happy National Scrapbook Day.  I hope you all have had the opportunity to get your creative juices flowing and have gotten some projects that have been sitting on your shelves out of the way.
As for me today in honor of National Scrapbook Day, I first headed over to By Design Scrapbook Boutique and purchased a few scrapbook items.  Since returning home about 2.5 hours ago, I have been able to complete two mother's day cards (one for my mom and the other for my mother in law) and a scrapbook layout dedicated to my paternal Great Grandmother.  I've had fun so far today, and hope to have everything I create today posted by Monday.  Until then I hope you all enjoy the cards and the layout.

Happy Scrappin'!!!!!!
