Okay, so I know this site is not new, but it's fairly new to me.  I've heard about it, but finally got the chance to check it out.  Photobucket.com is a site in which you can upload and share videos and pictures.  The site also includes cool edits you can do to your photos.  Check out the ones I played around with yesterday.  I had a lot of fun!

It was too cloudy for me to see the lunar eclipse Monday night/Tuesday morning, but last night the moon was so bright and beautiful.  I was so excited that I was able to capture such a great shot!

So I ordered the December Daily 6x8 Layered Templates by Ali Edwards, through Designer Digitals.  After much consideration, and even though I had my pre-made album from last year (which I wasn't able to work on), I thought this would be a good touch to my December Daily 2010 Album.  Seeing has how I decided to go with the Hybird approach (traditional and digital scrapbooking).  I can't wait to see the finished product.
So finally Friday evening I was able to sit down for a little while before heading to bed to work on some pages.  Here are Day 1 and Day 2 Overlays.  I hope to present my completed December Daily next week, but for info on my December Daily and what we've been up to this month so far, please check out the December Daily 2010 link at the top of this page.  Enjoy!

I wanted to share this quote with you all from Inspirationpeak.com.  I receive a daily message/quote from them, and they are such inspiring quotes.  This one really hits the nail as I know a few people going through tough times right now.  Reading it just makes me think of hard times I have come through and it just make me thankful that during those hard times I didn't get down in a rut, I stayed as positive as I could and now, I am thankful to God that I am in a better place than before.  Here is the message:

At a certain moment in Nietzsche's life, the idea came to him of what he called 'the love of your fate.' Whatever your fate is, whatever the heck happens, you say, 'This is what I need.' It may look like a wreck, but go at it as though it were an opportunity, a challenge. If you bring love to that moment - not discouragement - you will find the strength is there. Any disaster that you can survive is an improvement in your character, your stature, and your life. What a privilege! This is when the spontaneity of your own nature will have a chance to flow. Then, when looking back at your life, you will see that the moments which seemed to be great failures followed by wreckage were the incidents that shaped the life you have now. You’ll see that this is really true. Nothing can happen to you that is not positive. Even though it looks and feels at the moment like a negative crisis, it is not.

I created this card for a friend who is absolutely new to the scrapbooking world.  She will use this card as a source of inspiration to create a card to be used to ask her closest friends to be in her wedding as Bridesmaids.  I was happy to be able to create a card which she liked and can use as a source of inspiration in a unique way.  I hope to have her completed card here on the blog, if she permits.
Materials Used:  Bazzill Basics; Warm Red Color Box Fluid Chalk Ink; BIG Essentials black embossing ink; clear embossing powder; gold Perfect Pearl; Crystal Stickles; Bling

I’m so excited about the release of Pantone’s 2011 color of the year:  Honeysuckle.  Although I was a big fan of the 2010 Turquoise, the 2011 pick of Honeysuckle is so vibrant and full of life.  And yes, it has been showing up in the scrapbooking world in vintage scrapbooking papers and embellishments, it will be refreshing to see this color go viral.  I think every woman is too stoked about Honeysuckle.  Let’s milk it for as long as we can.

So as we close out 2010, let’s welcome 2010 Honeysuckle with open arm and know that our 2010 pick of Turquoise isn’t far behind.  As the two of these colors together will make quite the pair!

Just saw this on Yahoo.  I think this will be going on my Christmas Wish List and it comes at a great price too!

If you haven't all ready started on your holiday cards, this week this weekend is the time!  As for me, I'll be working on a few cards and our Annual Newsletter.  This card below is sure to capture the heart of every woman during this time of year.  :)

One of my first scrapbooking layouts of December included a Christmas gift of a 1-page layout Celebrating Cousin Cyniah's 1st birthday.  I used stickles as sprinkles on the top of the small cupcakes and like the way the overall look and feel of the layout came together.  I also decided to focus on two pictures that I believe will have the most meaning when she is older, a picture of Cyniah with her mother and grandmother and another picture of Cyniah with her two grandfathers.  I had a fun time making this layout, using her party invitation, and her birthday bib as a source of inspiration.  I can't wait to give it to her on Christmas!
