6/10/11 - I just finished this book yesterday....here's what I thought:
I thought overall, this was a pretty good book.  It kept me interested from page one until the end.  I must say though, I actually give this book 3.75 stars - due to not being quite ready for it to end just yet.  Jacob, the main character, I love his personality as an older man.  He's a hoot, however as a young man, I think he's a little on the uptight side.  All-in-All, I have to say if you want to know more about the exciting life of a traveling circus, this is a must read.  It was amazing to find out that the bulk of the things the author put in the book are actual accounts from traveling circus history!  Great read!!

5/23/11 -
This book is pretty good so far.  It's had both funny and sad moments.  I'm excited to see how it turns out.

5/18/11 - After reading the reviews and hearing about Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, from friends, I'm excited about starting it today!!!

Quotes I Liked:
*  "'I'm about used up.  Ain't good for nothin' but ticket seller, and I recon I'm too ugly for that."  I glance over and decide he's right.  'Is there something else you can do instead?  Maybe behind the scenes?"  ~Camel to Jacob, page 64

* "Keeping up the appearance of having all your marbles is hard work but important."  ~Jacob, page 82

* "When two people are meant to be together, they will be together.  It's fate."  ~Jacob, page 355

*  "With a secret like that, at some point the secret itself becomes irrelevant.  The fact that you kept it does not."  ~Jacob, page 415
